Joe Farquharson

As the graphic designer at KA+A, Joe is responsible for producing strong workable design solutions across a range of media, both on and off-screen. He has a true passion for his work, particularly for branding and identity design in which his typographic flair and technical precision become apparent.

Joe gained much of his experience back in his native Scotland, working with a diverse array of clients, from local business start-ups, to international extreme sporting events. In 2006 Joe moved to the United States, finally settling in Indianapolis after a year working as a senior designer in Philadelphia. Since his move he has worked with some of the country's most prominent names in the financial, healthcare and software industries.

After leaving high school, Joe initially trained as an electronic and software engineer, retaining knowledge of working processes which are still relevant to his work today. He eventually returned to his true calling in design and graduated top of his class at Edinburgh's Telford College, winning the award for best Student Exhibition. In his spare time Joe is an avid type designer, a pastime which helps further refine his typographic skills that are utilized in his day-to-day work at KA+A.

Joe lives in Indianapolis with his two dogs, Minnie and Rocco. He looks forward to becoming a US citizen in 2012.
