iPhone Usability
Create With Context (a research and design firm out of Santa Clara, CA) just released the results of a usability study they conducted with the iPhone. It’s especially relevant to those of us who are developing and design apps for the device. Its release has definitely created some exciting new opportunities for us to reconsider how people interact with software.
The beauty of most iPhone apps is that their simplicity helps users to quickly adapt and overcome new interaction techniques. The device has inherent constraints that force designers and developers to simplify processes.
It seems like Create With Context really had to reach pretty deep to find UX/UI flaws that pose serious problems. Read it yourself and see what you think »

Thanks for the mention of our research – we had a lot of fun doing it and contributing to the iPhone community. We actually weren’t looking for iPhone flaws, per se, but rather looking to help iPhone developers build apps that are as ‘natural’ as possible when used in the context of other apps on the platform.
