I guess the importance of good looking design has finally been universally agreed upon. So, when everything becomes well designed visually, what does that leave us with? It leaves us with the opportunity to look beyond appearances and ensure that the ideas, strategies and innovations behind the aesthetics are meaningful.

This is bad for decorators, good for design thinkers, and good for the public (assuming designers continue to educate the world at large about how design is about far more than surface level appearances).
